Breakfast with Dr. Alberto Pérez, Deputy Director of RedIRIS
Within the days that we hold in the framework of the UPM-Clarke Chair, Modet & Co Spain, we invite you to this Colloquium-Breakfast to be held next Thursday, February 22 at 9:30h and whose guest speaker will be Dr. Alberto Pérez, Director of RedIRIS (Business Public Entity Red.es) in which the following topics will be covered:
– RedIRIS and its ICT services for universities and research
centres – RedIRIS and e-science:
e-infrastructures within the framework of the
“European Open Science Cloud” – New Strategic Plan of RedIRIS 2017-2020 – Possible collaboration with RedIRIS
Prior to joining Red.es, Dr. Alberto Pérez was working in the Telecommunications Market Commission and as a professor of Constitutional and Community Law at the University of Alcalá, where he graduated. He did his doctoral thesis on the regulation of the communications market, has published books and articles on policies of the ICT sector has advised European institutions and governments, within the framework of his collaboration with the European Audiovisual Observatory and with the Wolfson College, Oxford University. He also completed an Executive MBA from the Instituto de Empresa.
Since 2002 he has worked at Red.es, a public body responsible for promoting the Information Society in Spain, which, among other things, manages RedIRIS and Dominios.es. Currently, he has been at RedIRIS for 13 years, which he has represented for 7 years on the Board of Directors of the European Association of Academic Networks GANT.
The Colloquium-Breakfast will take place at the Headquarters of Clarke, Modet & Co España (C/ Quiñones Serum 34-36, 28002 Madrid).
The duration will be a maximum of an hour and a half including the time for the colloquium. Although the day starts at 9:30h, from 9:00h we will be with the speaker having a coffee in the same room, so if you want to join it will be a pleasure.
